We are with the Islamic Consultative Assembly for the livelihood of the vulnerable groups, Shariatmadari emphasized in a statement on the occasion of the 10th of Azar, "Islamic Consultative Assembly Day": The Ministry of Labour, Cooperatives and Social Welfare in line with the "intellectual and practical efforts for the livelihood of the poor ", as the main priority of the 11th Parliament, will cooperate with and accompany the Islamic Consultative Assembly and other concerned bodies and institutions. Minister of Labour, Cooperatives and Social Welfare, Mohammad Shariatmadari, referring to the 10th of December, "the day of the Islamic Consultative Assembly" said: This day coincides with the martyrdom of Ayatollah Modarres, a simple living, independent, virtuous, truthful, brave and courageous and self-sacrificing cleric in the contemporary Iranian history. In another part of his statement, he stated: At a time when our homeland Iran is witnessing the most severe and cruel economic sanctions and pressures, the most cowardly security confrontations and the widest propaganda psychological war aimed at breaking the psychological endurance of the people, our people are confronting the infamous Corona virus. I take this opportunity to once again act as an official who considers the most important mission for himself and his colleagues to make effort to spread justice, fight poverty, support the vulnerable and help empowering the needy. I extend my hand for cooperation and consensus to the members of parliament to form a consensus, an elite coalition to follow the model of "Let's be united" of the founder of the Islamic Republic of Iran to solve problems and challenges of all walks of life, especially the middle class and poor community. He added: "In order to solve the problems and improve the living conditions of the people, we must have the right policy in line with the current conditions of the country, and as the wise leader of the revolution emphasized," with diligent efforts and relying on thought and action, with our young innovative, studious generation, and in interaction with all relevant interested groups, we hopefully achieve the important goal of leap in production and building wealth, the extension of public welfare and the equitable distribution of public resources among the people." He also emphasizes that in order to achieve this lofty goal, we must promote public trust and social hope, which is important not by order and advice, but by coordination and empathy of all politicians, representatives and executives, and by achieving tangible achievements. Shariatmadari stated that in this historical circumstances, we must take great steps in solving the problems of the deprived groups by strengthening justice-oriented mechanisms and purposeful and effective support for the disadvantaged people.
Shariatmadari said: “In the Ministry of Cooperatives, Labour and Social Welfare, we pursue a variety of initiatives such as unification of pensions and making them sufficient in the four major funds, increasing pension of the help seekers and the people with disabilities under coverage of the welfare organization, relying on the strategy of transparency aiming at optimum consumption and preventing waste of resources, ensuring proper allocation of resources, supporting clients with special and common needs, 8 times increase of rural employment share in the national employment basket; however, to continue in the same path, we need the Parliament’s support and empathy.
